This year’s Astronomy WA Challenge Cup saw 20 teams, from 16 different schools, descend upon Scitech for a day of space and astronomy related activities and challenges. Students took part in challenges that asked them to build model space stations, use satellite imagery to find locations on earth and design a craft to protect and safely land an ‘egg-stronaut”. Rockets were fired, calculations completed, questions answered and when the dust settled the winner was decided by only 100 points in scores in excess of 3000!
