Cosmodome by SPACETIME is a new generation portable planetarium and 3D cinema where the film totally surrounds the audience.
Their state-of-the-art equipment allows spectacular and amazing images to zoom across the dome, bringing the excitement of a major planetarium and IMAX type theatre to your school, shopping centre or fundraising event. Their range of exciting films, which all have an educational theme, include "Earths Wild Ride", "Oasis in Space" and "Black Holes – The Other Side of Infinity".
Films are complemented by "Stellarium" their planetarium software which includes instructor led night sky and astronomy shows tailored to each level of the WA science curriculum "Earth and Beyond".
The films which are shown inside the CosmoDome are the same big budget productions played at major museums and planetariums throughout the world. The mobile nature of the CosmoDome gives students at both metro and country schools easy access to these shows.
The CosmoDome can accommodate up to 30 students per session and entry is via a full height walk in airlock door. Students are seated comfortably on cushions inside the dome and up to four chairs can be provided for teachers at the back of the dome.
Thousands of children from Carnarvon to Albany have enjoyed sessions inside the CosmoDome with each session generally including a Stellarium night sky tour, a 3D planetarium film and a space quiz with space toys and posters for prizes.
SPACETIME also provide the latest in state-of-the-art mobile telescopes for your school astronomy night. They teach your students how to operate our computer controlled telescopes and then guide students and/or the general public through a tour of the best objects in the night sky. The combination of the mobile telescopes and the CosmoDome mobile planetarium enable schools to offer a comprehensive and exciting space and astronomy experience.
